This 5 week series offers a therapeutic form of yoga with a strong focus on individual adaptation. You will learn yoga poses for back health, basic anatomy, breath work and how deep relaxation helps alleviate chronic low back pain and tension. This series is taught progressively and intended for students of all levels and abilities.
Classes are based on The Essential Low Back Program designed by Robin Rothenberg C-IAYT. Participants have access to the Essential Low Back Program digital workbook (containing 5 yoga practices) for only $9.99.
About the Instructors:
Starr Sanborn is a longtime practitioner of Viniyoga, and specializes in therapeutic yoga and chronic pain management. Starr adapts the practice to the unique conditions, needs and interests of each student. Her classes focus on breath, alignment, individual adaptations, and self-awareness. She teaches with compassion and a true understanding of chronic pain. Starr is an Essential Yoga Therapy 500 hour Certified Yoga Instructor, Yoga Therapist Intern, Accredited Buteyko Breathing Educator, and is certified to teach the Essential Low Back Program, and Yoga for Scoliosis.
Starr currently teaches group classes for Yoga Bliss, and holds individual sessions online via zoom. She also teaches mindfulness and gentle movement to medical teams including Swedish Hospital and Overlake Hospital. Starr has experience working with many populations and health conditions including musculoskeltal, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory
Starr sees clients privately and at Yogabliss, and finds it very rewarding to help others with chronic health conditions, and stress reduction through the practice of yoga.
Sonia Weirich is a E-RYT 500 yoga instructor, educator, and yoga therapist in training (graduating in 2020) with 16-years of teaching experience.
For 27 yrs Sonia has participated in renunciate programs with different Gurus and is currently studying with a non-dual transmission Guru. In addition to yoga certification she holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate.
These combined experiences provide the unique energy and perspective that Sonia brings to her classes and individual client sessions. Through the transformational art of applied yoga, Sonia helps students and clients deepen their awareness and broaden their perspective in body, emotion, mind, and spirit.
